DUE DILIGENCE AND EXPERT WITNESS
Undertook a due diligence process to evaluate the viability of purchasing a specialist warehousing and transportation company on behalf of a major investment bank and assisted the new owners in formulating a commercial strategy for the company. This included:
- interviewing customers, staff and competitors
- auditing existing operations
- established potential exit strategies (read testimonial)
Assisted 3PL company to calculate revenue loss as a result of floor damage within the warehouse which resulted in racking being unable to be erected and potential clients being turned away.
BENCHMARKING: Value for money analysis of 3PL contract
Undertook a benchmarking exercise to analyse the cost effectiveness of their current 3PL store distribution service.
- Approached two main competitors of the existing 3PL incumbent ensuring full anonymity at all times
- Reviewed the total store distribution operation and costs
- Identified potential savings of approx. £2m per annum, 10% of the annual transport spend, excluding fuel.
- Currently assisting the client with re-negotiating the contract with a view to realizing the savings
Undertook a major benchmarking exercise for an international office products company of their sales order processing operations.
- Analysed current order lead time operations
- Interviewed client and their competitors
- Produced a service matrix detailing the client’s services in comparison to their competitors
ITT: Production of invitations to tender
Evaluated existing in-house warehousing and distribution operation for a DIY products manufacturer.
- Resulted in the decision to outsource 30% of the warehousing and distribution operation
- Produced an Invitation to Tender and identified potential 3PL partners
- Evaluated the responses, assisted in the decision making and produced a Service Level Agreement
- Currently undertaking a total supply chain review including sourcing from the Far East
Assisted a major fleet operator to produce an enhanced Invitation to Tender for the supply of commercial vehicles and trailers
AUDITS: O Licence Audit of commercial fleet
Undertook audit of 30 depots nationwide for a wholesaler to ensure that all their depots comply with ‘O’ Licence regulations. Included:
- Checking maintenance records
- Analysing samples of tachographs
- Ensuring all vehicle records and certificates were up to date
OPERATIONAL REVIEWS
Assisted a client in reducing their warehouse requirement from 80,000 sq ft to 11,000 sq ft through:
- Direct deliveries from suppliers
- Operational efficiencies
- Disposal of obsolete stock (read testimonial)
Assisted a client to reorganise their warehouse to accommodate a 40% increase in throughput.
- Moved warehouse offices from portakabins within the warehouse to purpose built offices under a mezzanine floor also saving money
- Re-organised racking and bulk space to accommodate increased storage (read testimonial)
